Today this recipe isn’t for you.. it’s for your furry four legged pup! Though there isn’t anything in these dog treats that would be bad for you to eat… they probably don’t have much flavor for a human, but for a dog they are great!
Meet Bruce, our 5 week old puppy! He is definitely part Husky, and Spencer and mine’s guess is part Swiss Mountain Dog too.
He is a lazy fella that loves to eat…and he snorts like a pig sometimes. He’s a fatty, what can I say. At only 5 weeks old he is already 9.4 lbs. (we read he should really be 10 lbs when he is 8 weeks old) …Look at how cute he is!
He has blue eyes, just like his momma.
My guys! I am so proud of Bruce, he is already getting the hang of this whole potty training thing.
Okay, okay. Enough about that.. to the recipe!
What you need:
- 1½ tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 2 tablespoons Smooth Peanut Butter
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- ¾ teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Parsley Flakes
Step 1: Mix all of your ingredients together in a bowl. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Knead the dough a little bit to make sure everything is mixed in there evenly! Then roll the dough out onto a floured surface (about 1/2 inch thick). Use whatever cookie cutter you want, and place onto a greased, or lined, baking sheet.
Step 3: Bake for about 10 minutes (less if you rolled out your treats thinner). You want the treats to be firm, but not burned.
Step 4: Let them cool completely before storing them. (about an hour) And give to your puppy!
Oh man, once Bruce smelled these he went nuts! They are Bruce approved 🙂
All the excitement of a new treat wore this fella out!
Enjoy! (watching your dog enjoy them, haha) 🙂
